If climbing via the Lemosho, Rongai, or Machame Routes, you will sleep in four-season low-profile tents. The tents are considered 3-person tents but only two people will sleep per tent to provide ample room for your personal gear. A sleeping mat for each climber is also included in your trekking package. Either bring your own sleeping bag or we can assist you with renting one here.
Your mountain crew will set up your camp each day and have your tent ready and waiting for you when you arrive after your day's hike. In the morning, once you're up and ready to go, they'll tear down the camp and carry everything on to the next campsite.
If climbing via the Marangu Route, you'll sleep in shared cabins with bunk-style beds. Mattresses are provided but you will still need to bring your own sleeping bag or rent one here.
Toilets at campsites are shared pit latrines. Private toilet tents are available to rent.
A chef will be part of your mountain crew team. He will prepare three hearty meals plus snacks every day to keep you well-fed and nourished. As you reach higher altitudes your appetite may diminish but your guide and chef will encourage you to eat anyway so you take in enough calories to fuel your hiking.
Please be sure to let us know well in advance of any food allergies or dietary restrictions you have so that we can be certain to accommodate them properly.
It's also a good idea to bring along some of your favorite energy bars from home to have in your daypack.
